Like every year, Lebanon is inundated with festivals but here is why one festival is worth the trip.
The Ain Ebel Summer Festival is one of the very few in the southern district particularly beyond the Tyre region. Ain Ebel has amazing scenery and a landscape perfect for hiking as well as restaurants that serve fresh food and some pubs and Cafes to satisfy that nightly craving for some drinks or arguileh. It truly is an amazing summer getaway. The festival is the cherry on top with a diverse program this year that is guaranteed to please every music taste; from the legendary Assi el Helani to the popular singer Hussein Eld Dik and Amy Smack Daddy for some pop, rock and everything in between.
And if you miss these events, try to make it to the Around the Globe event that the festival hosts every year. Peacekeeping forces working under the United Nations come together and transform this tiny village into a gleaming hope for diversity as each group from a different country play their own music; different bands, instruments and songs. It’s a beautiful sight to see how music truly unites everyone as the crowd and the peacekeepers dance to the same beat and share a smile and some really good food.
If you decide to do something different this summer, then get on a bus or get behind the wheel and head to Ain Ebel; spend an entire weekend. It’s a village that never sleeps.
This is not only for fun and games, the festival employs Ain Eblies and other local residents from nearby villages to help and was able to give back over $15,000 to the community to revive the economy even for a short period of time.
There is a hotel and some furnished apartments you can rent in case you’re with friends or bringing your family. Sunbathe at the pool at either the hotel or the resort, take a hike, visit one of Lebanon’s oldest churches, attend the festival and spend the night in a breezy weather or party all night long. We have it all.
See you there!
